Had to jump in the canal to save Charlie this evening. He slipped in went under and didnt come back up floated on his side for about 30 seconds I can honestly say I have never been more terrified of loosing someone.lnstinct made me just jump straight in and pull him out. He was badly winded took him a while to catch his breath but boy was I relieved whem he did. Two lovely couples came to my rescue and I manage to get over the shock enough to get home and get him straight to the vets (in my pjs as Id had to get changed too) Just got home from the vets. Vet says to keep close eye on him as hes obviously swallowed water and his breathing is a bit rapid but water should be absorbed so hes had antibiotic injection and has got a weeks course of antibiotics to take. Hes settled on the sofa at the moment. Blimey what a day so much for a leisurely walk by the canal.
