Had to unplug my phone cos of the stinking student loan debt collectors harassing me. First, the USTD garnishes my SSD check, reducing me to the poverty level. Then, whenever I apply for ANY assistance (food stamps, housing, medical, etc.) the agencies involved REFUSE to acknowledge my garnishment--literally to save money at the risk of my health and putting me further at risk of hunger and homelessness. And, as if thats not horrible enough to have to deal with, I get bills regularly from the USDE for more than double of what I get from SSD in a year, and NOW, theyve sicced a shady, pushy, never-lets-up debt collector on me! WHY should I feel ANY scrap of patriotism, for a country that has no problems taking away my financial rights and putting my health at risk to save better off Americans money? Why? Thats not the act of a god-fearing nation. Thats not even the act of a brave nation. That the richest country in the world wants to save money by harassing someone whom they have already forced to live below the poverty line, is beyond cowardice, beyond immoral. Its what we claim our enemies do to their people! God bless America my arse. The only god left in this country is the god of greed.
