Had very good talk today with Mayor Ruben O. Villarreal. As most of you know, we are on opposite ends of the need and benefit of National Guard troops in the Valley to deal with our current humanitarian crisis. While I will keep the bulk of our conversation private, suffice it to say that although we both believe this is an important discussion to be had in some public forum, I did not get the impression that he was open to change his position regardless of which stakeholders we may hear from. We both have reached out to KURV in the hopes that is something that they may be interested in exploring with us, or hosting a discussion. If something gets set, I will let you all know. In the meantime, I am still interested in hearing how the various stakeholders (citizens, biz leaders, elected officials, law enforcement officials, etc.) feel about this, so please post here or send me a private message.
