Hafeez Khan and Pervez Akhter, two passionate Canadian Muslims arranged this wonderful meeting as their follow up work with MP Mr. Brad Butt to talk about crimes against humanity and to develop the working relationships between community and our elected officials. Our Honorable Minister if Multiculturalism Mr. Tim Uppal was in attendance along with my councilor from ward 11 Mr. George Carlson, Ward 5 Councilor Carolyne Parish, MPP Mr. Harindar Thakkar, MP Mr. Brad Butt and our Citizenship judge Mr. Rafiq Rokarya. Present and former chairmen of Canadian Council of Imams, religious leaders, media associates and a large number of key leaders from Muslim community not only participated but also ensure their support for the country, our officials and also for our fellow countrymen. Dr. Hamid Slimi, presented the history and views about barbaric acts and how not to label just one community for the crimes committed in the name of Islam. Our hosts Hafeez Khan and Pervez Akhter reiterated the fact that Muslim community is a great part and contributor f the Canadian fabric and that we stand together with out Government in our struggle against barbarism. Hon. Minister showed support and understanding towards the issues raised.
