Hafeez for years has been groomed and tipped as a potential future skipper for the Pakistani side. Due to the phenomenal understanding he demonstrates of all aspects of cricket, he is respected greatly amongst his team mates and has developed into a world class all-rounder over the years. Hafeez opens the batting (and even the bowling!) for Pakistan across all three formats, and possess the great skill of being able to bowl spin with the new ball. He has gained a reputation for troubling left handed batsmen from every part of the world, and also provides Pakistan with some stability at the top of the batting order. As well as all that, Hafeez contributes greatly to the teams ‘think tank’ when it comes to strategizing and planning the game. Despite a recent struggle with the bat, Hafeez has demonstrated the immense talent he possesses to score quick runs when required. A few great knocks come to mind such as his century against India in the last edition of the Asia Cup, as well as a phenomenal half century in the 2nd T20 against the arch rivals late last year.
