Hah, I totally forgot about the village council meeting until about 7:05. So I got there a little late. Unfortunately Im still not getting a 3g connection, so I couldnt live-facebook it. These are the notes I took, though: All council members in attendance. Sam wants to delay the water project until next year. Elmers came back with a very high bid. Since June 15 until about today the campground has been full. Racheal is giving a report now. Water bills will go out next week. Cory Hoeksema is presenting DDA news. If council members read the soapbox they would know all this already :). Theres a sheet available at the door detailing costs for 100 of sidewalk at $1421.50. They still dont ever have enough copies of agendas and other material. Theyre working on a grant for a new patrol car next year. Apparently they are going to post video of meetings on the village website. They are filming again. There is a dock at the north end of the lake that was put in by a private citizens. Theyve given notice that it must be removed in 10 days or they will remove it. Sam says he received compliments on how nice the park grass looked. They bagged the grass with Lyles small mower. So he requests a commercial bagger which would cost $1700 to $2500. Motion by Clark, second by Batterbee for the $1700 bagger, approved. Selling the 2007 truck. Ken recommends selling it with the old plow and buying a new plow for one of the new trucks. He wants to agree on a price and put it up for sale. Bodley thinks $9500 is the top end. Theyre going to send it to get detailed then put it up for sale on facebook and craigslist for $9000. First who is willing to pay gets it. The auditors suggested they adopt a capital expenditures policy, which just labels a project as a capital improvement or an other expense. Motion passes. They approved the new DDA member, Nancy Bridges. Ralph Hines is present and asking for permission to solicit $2500 for a warning track on the softball field. Any funds he cant raise the village would have to make up. If Ralph raises the full amount he will begin work immediately. They approved $8000 for Sam to hook up some houses on Herrick to the 10 main. Suzi McGuire asked for public restrooms in that area donated by the bank. Ken says it is a great idea but they need to look into costs. Ken wants to improve the public parking lot with more spaces, possibly cutting down the trees.
