Haha, wow. So, I was trying to find a really good example video on YouTube of Mongolian eagle hunters using their birds to hunt wolves. Now, as much as I love wolves, and I know that predators are extremely important to a healthy ecosystem, I also know that, generally, the eagle hunters are hunting animals like wolves and deer literally to put food in their belly and clothes on their back. Theyre not doing wholesale slaughter, and its not being done for a trophy. So, as I am wont to do, I start bouncing around the recommended videos, and theres one of a falconers peregrine falcon catching a pheasant in mid-air. Its pretty amazing Meagan Duffee-Yates, you might like this). Heres the video: https://youtube/watch?v=IyFofv8ZqdE THEN, I broke The Cardinal Rule of the Internet: Dont read the comments. At least the two people replying had two brain cells to rub together (and a sense of humor). Names are changed to protect the idiots and the exasperated. WhatIsBiology?: I dont like predators of any kind, but falcons top my list, I think. The fact that they start to eat their prey alive makes me want to shoot them. CommonSense: and what exactly do you expect them to do? take the catch back to their kitchen, and kill them humanly like humans do?? YOUarethetit: You should probably stay off of falconry videos then mate. I hear there are some great videos of Blue Tits eating seeds from a feeder on here, although I cant be sure if the seeds are dead already. I was super mad and thinking about leaving a really long reply with lots of information, links, etc. But, I realized that, honestly, the two people who replied pretty well said what I wanted to, and I should have left for the dentists ten minutes ago. So, that being said, dont be hatin on predators, and Im off to get my teeth drilled... hooray.
