Haider Movie: There is two types of movie, one which entertains you till the end and second is one which rewards you at the end of it for keeping track with it. Vishal Bharadwajs fetish for Shakespeares Plays is something unique for Indian Cinema and the best thing about it is he makes the adaptation so relevant to our times.. Depicting J&K and the Communal Tensions in a way even Kashmiris are astounded as to the real brutality of the depiction, VB succeeds not only in adaption but also the metaphor it is carried in. Shahid Kapoor as Haider digs deep into his character, with the monologue in second half about AFSPA the pinnacle of his wayward acting career so far! Irrfan Khans depiction of Ghost shows the directorial genius to create a character relevant to storyline! But movie belongs to Tabu. Starting the movie as disloyal wife, to emotionally exploiting mother, to a disturbed soul questioning her sides to finally expressing the pent up Oedipal emotions to her son, she carries the movie with minimal screen presence. And thankfully the director used poetic liberty to end the climax in a way different to way Hamlet ended, in a more politically relevant way! VERDICT: VISHAL BHARADWAJ FEEDS US THE BITTER, RAW KASHMIRI REALITY COVERING IT WITH THE SWEETNESS OF HAMLETS STORY. MUST WATCH _/\_
