Haider.. is powerful dark intense complex emotional. The movie #Haider though set in picturesque Kashmir, does not smell of fragrant Kashmir roses, one cannot really expect it to. Director Vishal Bhardwaj has set his adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet against the backdrop of Kashmir’s insurgency and militancy. Ace performances by the stellar cast make the movie absolutely a must-watch. Kay Kay Menon is effortlessly wicked and sly, Irrfan Khan fearsome in a sinister way, Tabu ..perfect as ‘Ghazala’ and last but not the least Shahid Kapoor ..Brilliant! Yes, he has the acting genes of his daddy Pankaj Kapoor. Even glam girl Shradha Kapoor does not look out of place…she fits in seamlessly into her role. It is a movie, which is bound to generate a conversation, an opinion. some scenes are bound to bring about some discomfort. May appear unfair to some.
