Haider is probably the boldest film made on a contemporary - TopicsExpress

Haider is probably the boldest film made on a contemporary issue(Kashmir problem), I can think of. Vishal Bharadwajs penchant for Shakespeares plays and adapting them with modern themes, is remarkable. This film is a chilling modern interpretation. Bharadwaj manages to do it with such a great deal of sensitivity and realism that it can be described best in that hindi usage, hilake rakh deta hai! A Must watch! I think its the best film I have watched this year. Great performances by Tabu, Shahid Kapoor, Kay Kay Menon, Shraddha Kapoor(she is a revealation--daughter of shakti Kapoor!) and Irfan Khan in a Cameo. I was pleasantly shocked by the reaction of the audience, when he makes his entry in the film--he is almost gaining cult status! BTW read this to understand how this film is so realistic----thehindu/todays-paper/tp-opinion/i-have-tried-to-add-a-reporters-sense-of-realism-to-haider/article6467336.ece
