Haiku is back at it baking again! This time, we are making Cinnamon Pumpkin Dog Cookies with a Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting (and sprinkles) for Tokyos, Kotas, Geishas, and Hiiros birthday tomorrow! We made hearts, stars and bone shaped cookies that the pups will sure to love! The beautiful aroma has filled the house! I got this recipe from food, but as always, I tweaked it just a bit. If you would like to try them out too, the recipe is: (please note I double this recipe as I knew I wanted thicker cookies and I have many mouths to feed haha) Ingredients: 2 eggs 1/2 cup canned pumpkin 1 tablespoon honey 3 teaspoons cinnamon 2 tablespoons dry milk 2 1/2 cups wheat flour (You can add water if the consistency is too dry to roll out, but this is supposed to be a hard biscuit type of cookie so it should be on the drier side) Directions: 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2 Blend eggs and pumpkin together; dry milk, and flour. 3 Add water as needed to make the dough somewhat workable. 4 The dough should be dry and stiff, dont be concerned with crumbs being left in the bowl. 5 You will need to mix/knead this with your hands because it is too stiff for an electric mixer. 6 Roll to 1/2-inch thick. (Mine were a bit thicker) 7 Cut into shapes. 8 Place 1 apart on ungreased cookie sheet. 9 Bake for 20 minutes on one side, then turn over and bake another 20 minutes. Enjoy! For the frosting I just used one package of cream cheese, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 1 tsp cinnamon, and 2 tsp honey and used a hand mixer to whip. I only frosted 2 to showcase what the final product looks like because they wont be having them today and once you frost them, they need to be refrigerated. #shibainu
