Hailey is an 11 year old who has struggled with medical problems one after another. It all started when she was 3 she became really sick after numerous test she was diagnosed with craniophargiomia a benine brain tumor. Dartmouth Hitchcock medical center decided to just place a catheter and shunt to drain it as needed so it didnt build pressure in her brain, it worked for a couple years then in 2009 she got sick again so we brought her to Dartmouth and after a MRI they found the tumor was back and it now had two cysts that were pressed againest her brain, now we were facing a life or death decision only option was to go to Boston Childrens for a resection. February 2009 was the day we walked in she was a above average little girl, run, jump love to dance, happy as can be. They put her to sleep I kissed her and expected surgery was about four hours, well four hours passed 8 hours anxious going crazy 16 hours I got the call shes in recovery. Great news well later that night due to resection it destroyed her pituitary gland so right away she was diagnosed with diabetes inshphidus (sodium ) she then peed out all her sodium and went into a seizure because it was post surgery the seizure caused thrombosis (blood clot on the brain) which caused her to have a stroke. The neurosurgeon came in and sat me down and said she would not make it through the night due to all post surgery effects, that night I sat there all night praying to god to not take my baby she miraclely pulled through. We lived in Boston childrens for four months they then sent us to spaulding for rehabilitation we stayed there another two months. I learned that surgery destroyed her frontal lobe which controls behavioral, emotional she had severe ocd anxiety etc. We were back and fourth between home and hospital at least two times a month staying no less than a week. Recently they found that her blood counts keep dropping to where they would need to keep transfusing her after test she was diagnosed with MDS bone marrow failure, it relocated us to another state 16 hours from home family anything we know and are financially struggling then recently found out not all medical is covered, and with lodging food gas medical we cant do it alone so were reaching out hoping people can come together and donate to help us raise the money.
