#HakaanYildirim debuts at London Fashion Week as winner of #DHLExportedprogramme Turkish fashion designer Hakaan Yildirim made his debut at London Fashion Week on Tuesday (16 September 2014) through DHL Exported, a programme which is designed to assist up-and-coming fashion designers to expand their brands internationally. H by Hakaan Yildirim showcased the spring/summer 2015 collection, which is described as a tribute to nature, where men and animals live together. It takes its inspiration from bees and features structured and honeycomb shapes; embroidery, beading and handmade lace. The palette spans yellow, green, red orange, black and white. “My inspiration for this collection is the relationship between human beings. The relation between humans and animals in nature,” said Yildirim. Everything in the world of nature reminds me of the human world. It’s all about a mutual exchange: this relation depends upon the benefit they derive from each other and it is interrupted…when the bee attempts to harm someone else, it ends up dying. This fact has always impressed me,” said Yildirim. The inaugural DHL Exported programme also enabled Italy’s Francesca Liberatore, Henry Holland from the UK and the duo Nicholas and Christopher Kunz from the US win the opportunity to further their international growth plans by showing their collections at the world’s leading fashion week events.
