Hakim left The Gambia over Studio break Music Producer and Promoter, Hakim, recently left The Gambia following a break into his Sunland Recording Studio last month, The Voice can reveal. 3 apple Laptops, 3 computers and 4 mobile phones were stolen from the Sunland Studio of which he is the Proprietor and Chief Producer. Hakim, who is also a singer, is now in Dakar, Senegal where reports are emerging that he want to start up a new recording studio. “The thief or thieves do not leave anything in studio, they have take n 3 apple Laptops, 3 computers and 4 mobile phones leaving me in a state of dilemma,” Hakim told The Voice on June 3, 2013. “I am totally confused and I don’t know where to start,” he added. Before the burglary, Hakim was working on music projects with singers Jalex, Diha, Nuchilly, Eddie Conta, Khaddija Mbowe, Royal Aziz, Rife, T Smallz, Vypa and Dj Limbo. He said many Gambian artists were really shocked over the loss of their project materials. “Some artists who are not even in the Gambia are also crying out loud that they have lost their projects which could be hit songs all over the world,” he said. Hakim, a Gambia-based American until recently, has worked with various Gambia artists since the year 2000. His most recent works include the production of hit songs “Bulfaleh Nyi” done by Gee and Jalimadi, and “Na Nyata” by Mandingmorry.
