Halas (which means ENOUGH in Arabic and Israeli Slang) is lining Gaza and the south of Israel with a quilt. Hows about us producing a massive knitted quilt blanket ? Something that will bring a soft, colorful symbol of femininity into such a harsh and tough place ? Something that older and younger women can do while sitting in their shelter. We are bringing Halas, the feminine voice of the Middle East to maternity homes in south Israel and Gaza. In order to give hope to the women and girls who are under fire and we are calling them to join a civilization that is based on what we have to offer: compassion and warmth.
