Haley Says What does non verbal mean to you? I know what it means but where do you draw the line? Does your child make sounds or are they completely silent? Do they say any words? My daughter doesnt talk but she can imitate any word. For example, tonight she got hurt and I said you okay? And she says you okay. So she copies. But she doesnt actually know what the words or phrases mean. She doesnt really know what anything means. As if I were speaking to her in another language. Shes kinda low functioning..for now. Shes on the waiting list for multiple therapies. I guess Im looking for a little hope. Shes 2 right now. How was your child at 2 and if theyre verbal, when did they start talking? Did your child understand at this age? If not, when did they start understanding what youre saying? Im starting to feel like she will never understand. She doesnt even know her name. I would love to hear your stories because each day I feel more and more hopeless. Shes going through a regression right now..so maybe thats why I feel like this. But still. Its hard to stay hopeful.
