Halftime Re-cap Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears After a - TopicsExpress

Halftime Re-cap Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears After a shaky start the #Bears are rolling on the #Vikings--both on offense and defense. The #Vikings offense is playing dedicated to the run, but right now the biggest rusher on the team is safety Andrew Sendejo who picked up 48 yards on a fake punt play. There is very little to say about the Vikings offense because they havent been on the field nearly enough. Jerick McKinnon has been the primary running back, taking it 35 yards on 7 attempts, also getting 6 yards on 3 receptions. Dedication to the run is good, but most of the Vikings passing attempts have been near the line of scrimmage--not a lot of down-field attempts. That could be because former-Viking Jared Allen has completely owned his match-up today against Matt Kalil getting to Teddy Bridgewater (8/11 for 39 yards and 1 touchdown). Jarius Wright is questionable to return with a hamstring injury. On defense, the Vikings havent been able to get pressure on Jay Cutler. When he finally took a break from sabotaging his own play, Cutler has 18/24 for 216 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Bears offense has been much more pass-heavy today with Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, and Matt Forte hauling in multiple passes. The Bears are targeting Josh Robinson more than any other offense has this season, and they have done it successfully. The Vikings defense has hardly touched Cutler, let alone sack him. He did take a vicious hit from rookie linebacker Anthony Barr, but that didnt keep him from hitting Marshall in the end zone for a touchdown. Special teams had a brilliant fake punt play where Sendejo took the end around 48 yards for a first down that set up the Vikings sole touchdown. It was great and unexpected because the Vikings almost never do trick plays like that. Blair Walsh hit a long field on the opening drive of the game, but hasnt had an opportunity at more points. Jeff Lockes punts have been...not good. Can the Vikings regroup and find a way to win in Chicago? Well see as the second half starts. Vikings 10, Bears 14 at the half.
