Halfway! Ever notice how what you see in your rearview mirror is limited by the edges of the mirror? Yet what you see looking forward is expansive, three-dimensional, and only limited by your own vision? Thats how I am feeling passing the halfway mark of this chemo protocol today. Whats in the past with this chemo combo had some hard edges that made me wonder if I could maintain my sense of hope and stay resilient. Then I remember that I just have to keep going back to my innate strengths if I want to feel strong. For me thats learning, gratitude and creativity. Crossing this halfway mark is energizing as I look forward, and Im refocusing on whats ahead, the whole broad vista of it. Potholes? Bring em, baby. Breathtaking views around every corner? Im wide-eyed and ready. My friends and family riding shotgun and pointing out the unexpected rainbows, wildlife (wild life!), and being with me for the delicious picnics along the way? Why, yes please! The ragtop is down, the wind is in my peach fuzzy hair, and I am HALFWAY to the projected end of this chemo! Woo hooooo!
