Hallmarks of the european mind from the perspective of a middle-easterner The roots of the current scientifc method of thinking - that is often described as pure materialistic - lie in old Greece, when philosophers tried to explain natural phenomena outside the realm of Myths and Religions. Mixing religion with myths is a part of the current european mentality as it has its roots deep in early european history. the Greek philosophers had to put religion and myths in the same pot and put them all aside in order to start an active objective way of thinking searching for alternatives trying to set rules and to understand more the natural world surrounding them. Of note here to say that this expansion of intellect that happened at this time was to a great extent because of the reason that the Elites of the society had a lot of time to think and bring forward great ideas to the world as Slaves were doing the dirty work (also the clean one) in humanely degrading and humiliating life conditions. Elitism had no problem living in harmony with Slavery even to prosper. This leads to the second hallmark of the european mind that polarity and double standards lie side by side with materialism in the minds of current europeans coming as extentions or reflections of the early past of this civilisation. These aspects are important to realise for the average middle-easterner living in the west that has in average great appreciation for religion in which justice plays a centralized role.
