Halloween is approaching and no doubt activity will increase at Bachelor Grove; a small, abandoned cemetery in Bremen Township. It is well known for its haunted reputation and supposed ghost sightings. The site also is often reported to have been a dumping ground for victims of Chicagos organized crime families of the 1920s and 1930s, but no evidence of this has been proven. I was there last May and took this picture. I was appalled at the condition of the site. Many of the monuments were removed and displaced. Personally, I do not believe in the ghost stories told and if this place did not have the reputation it does I doubt many people would go here and thus there would be no vandalism.
