Halloween tomorrow. Im still in two minds about Trick and treating in general. Why is it that children I only see once a year - on halloween - and I have no idea who they are think that it is reasonable to ask me for sweets? Do they even know who I am?? (Possibly as the owner of the big fluffy cat, but that would be it). It is nice seeing the children I actually do know. We are a (mostly) sweet free household, so on last year on Halloween, I provided fruit and veg (apples and carrots). AND I put a big sign on the gate saying it was a sugar free household, but fruit available. The younger children were very happy to get the fruit, we could hear the older ones (who generally put less effort into their costumes) say no good here and moved on. Same again this year :)
