Hampshire Museums and Galleries Trust Salary Range Up to £27,000 per annum Contract Type Temporary Hours per week 35 Work Location New Forest and Andover Following the success of The Leading EDGE Young Volunteers Project (2010 – 2014) Hampshire Museums and Galleries Trust now has a vacancy for a youth project worker, funded by the Big Lottery Fund. This will be a 3 year fixed term contract, based in Andover and the New Forest. You will be required to recruit and develop EDGE youth panels, meeting regularly with group members to share ideas, provide training and help them develop their own programme of public events and exhibitions. The aim is to engage and encourage the young people to get involved and interested in Hampshire’s Museums, Libraries and Discovery Centres. You will work with each youth panel to develop their own skills and interests and facilitate them in producing and project managing their own public exhibitions and events over the 3 year period. You will need to be highly organised, creative and driven, with the ability to think laterally and be able to guide and motivate others with your enthusiasm and energy. You will need to be able to successfully engage with and relate to young people aged 14 to 24 and be able to work as part of a team with minimum supervision. You will be proactive and possess excellent relationship building skills and have demonstrable understanding of project management. You will also be expected to work with a number of vulnerable or hard to reach young people. The hours can be worked flexibly to suit the successful candidates and the needs of the project, as there will be peaks and troughs in demand throughout the contract duration. The job will involve occasional evening work and travel across the County, so you would need to be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the role. Full office support will be supplied and you will liaise with the relative Centre Manager on a day to day basis. Your employer will be Hampshire Museums and Galleries Trust, an independent charity.
