Han Mitakuyapi: I just received notice that Judge Jones ruled in favor of a new general election. He ruled that I cannot be a candidate in this new election. The issue will come up at tribal council this afternoon but when I was there on Tuesday it sounded like they would just wait and see what the Judge rules so its highly likely they will go by his decision. I have run out of funds to pay for more lawyer fees. I have no place to go to get a fair hearing. I believe our Tribal Judicial System is politically motivated. There is no real separation of powers. As I try to understand all of this I will not allow anyone the power to make my heart bitter and ugly. I feel I was raised better than that. I want to thank all of those who voted for me. Who gave me their support, their good words and who remembered me in their prayers. I truly appreciate all of that. I had high hopes of working together with all of you, to listen to you and to work to improve tribal services for the Oyate. Thank you for standing by me. All that is left for me to do is wish Francis Crawford, Robin Quinn and Jerome Renville Sr. Good luck in the new election.
