Handt Hanson SITUATION MONDAY, JULY 8 | LUKE 10:1-2 Situation: The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. It must have seemed like an impossible mission to the 70 disciples in our text today, too. Like a military mission, Jesus gathers his unit together and gives the marching orders. Today’s Army uses a five-paragraph operations order following this pattern: Situation, Mission, Execution, Service and Support, Command and Signal. Most soldiers can’t remember that, so they teach them the acronym SMESC (Sergeant Major Eats Sugar Cookies) to help them remember. Jesus has commissioned us in a similar fashion. This, in a nutshell, is that commission: See the world around you as a field ripe for harvest and proclaim peace, heal the sick, eat and drink whatever is set before you, and proclaim the Kingdom of God. Love the people you encounter. It’s that simple. Are you ready? Like · · 2 hours ago near Prior Lake ·
