Hanging Out at Book Stores and Libraries We have so many books at home that we dont have enough space for them. From young, I have surrounded the kids with books. All sorts of books - big books, small book, hard cover books, soft fabric books, lift the flap books, marker pen books, build-a-model books, colourful books, monochrome books, books of every genre. The kids are free to choose, and for a time Tia would only pick out the pink books even when she could not read. We also spend the weekends at libraries or book stores so that books become an extension of our lives. When we are at the book store, I watch the kids whilst they are free to roam like they are in a candy store and they get really, really excited. One thing I do not stinge on is books but that does not mean we need to buy them at every visit. Each book we have is precious. I will tell them too before entering that we are not allowed to buy anything else but books, if Im buying them books that day. Many a time we dont. They just browse and observe what is new and they then have to earn their book for the next visit. Dont let your man roam too far like kids in a candy store. They cannot control themselves. Book stores are OK. 😊
