Hanging with some kids from Strawberry Mansion HS in Philly---their school was featured twice on ABCs Nightline w/ Diane Sawyer last year. Listening to them talk about the impact that filimg the documentary has had on their school community is pretty interesting. They arent as happy with the image that America now assumes to be the norm---a low standard for education and socio-economic success. They sympathize with high schools in Philadelphia and in other cities that face simillar (if not, worse) challenges but go unrecognized and unassisted by the public and local government. Strawberry Mansion is not the poster-school for failure and thats the message they have very passionately and ARTICULATELY expressed to me.
