Hannibal, for me at least, as been one of the most surprisingly amazing shows Ive seen in recent memory. Whether its the amazingly thought provoking script, that in itself transcends merely retreading a study of Hannibals character, or its incredibly phantasmagoric visuals, disturbing beyond all compare, yet beautiful to look away from. Its rare for a television show to keep up the kind of dread and horror that this show is pulling off episode after episode. One thing though, that raises the show higher than others, its absolutely amazing sound design and music. Whether its the sound of leather being dragged over wood whenever Will Graham has a revelation, or low string cello music filling out a slow pan over yet another macabre crime scene. I cant think of another show with original music so memorable as this.
