Hannon turned 3 in June-she is smart,polite,funny,and does not look ill but faces a rare blood disease. With over 300 blood draws, genetic and immunology testing, and 2 bone marrow biopsies (a 3rd possibly coming this month), doctors are still unable to determine the cause of Hannons Neutropenia but suspect that it is autoimmune neutropenia. With hope, this is the only kind that can be outgrown. We are very blessed that Hannon has been in great health the past year and we are past constant hospital visits and admits.We continue to work with Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center to look for a cause for Neutropenia or wait patiently as tests are better developed to confirm our belief in her diagnosis. While we work hard to keep her healthy and raise awareness as well as funds for the Ella Jewell Foundation (ellajewellfoundation) to find a cure for all types of neutropenia. Our family will be participating in The Ella Jewell Foundations Bowling 4 Neutrophils event with 4 other local Cincinnati families the end of November.
