Hans Raj College caters to about +5000 students (both undergraduates & postgraduates), plus it has about 175 teachers on its rolls, and an almost equal number of non-teaching staff. Such heavy daily attendances puts tremendous pressure on infrastructural resources - which need to be developed accordingly. Over the years our college has expanded from a single, central, one-storey building to its present multi-winged, multi-storeyed, multiple decentralized blocks, with the additional of a separate sports complex, a sprawling students hostel, a library block, a spacious canteen (with enough sitting space indoors & outdoors, an enabling unit for handicapped students, and a central evaluation center plus a placement cell. Besides, the college offers residential accommodation to 24 teachers within the campus, and to an almost identical number of non-teaching employees. The College has a huge sports ground and a basketball court between the college and the hostel premises. Our sports comples is one of the few colleges in the country to posses an indoor badminton court and a state-of-the-art indoor shooting range. From a simple hall for student-staff congregations, the place has literally metamorphosed into a fully air-conditioned state-of-the-art auditorium, with professional audio, lighting and digital projection systems. For its massive electricity needs, the college has two huge industrial generator backups, and our hostel has a separate, third generator. We have three fully air-conditioned staff rooms. Internet facility is now available for students inside the library.
