Happening now, and as a total surprise to the students, Tim Brown and Tanya Villanueva Tepper are speaking to one of History Professor Jenny Pachucki’s classes at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY! Jenny Pachucki is an Oral Historian at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum and Adjunct Professor in History at Wagner College. She requested that Project Rebirths program, Talking with Tim and Tanya, take part in her September 11th history curriculum in order to help teach the human dimension of recovery and resilience. Objectives of Talking with Tim and Tanya: • To bring historical context to the events of September 11th by showing how five people were impacted in very different ways through the screening of the feature film, Rebirth. • To show how grief and trauma transforms into hope and resilience over time. • To give a personal connection to the events of September 11th by sharing more details about the victims’ lives, as well as coping strategies and life lessons learned in the aftermath and years that followed. Project Rebirths Educators Initiative: Talking to Tim and Tanya - Teaching the Human Dimension of 9/11 History and Recovery through the Documentary Film Rebirth débuted at E.O. Smith High School in Storrs, CT on Sept 9th, 2014. Since then we have been filling our calendar up with visits to high schools and colleges across the nation.
