Happenings: I am now the proud owner/operator of a smart phone. But I apparently got one with a bad attitude. Im told this phone is capable of all the normal pho. stuff, and, that it can conjugate verbs, solve quadratic equations, and predict the future within an impressive percentage of probability. So far I have completed one pho. call out, which occurred after being unable to answer the call coming in. I think I would like to trade this model in for one of average intelligence, or maybe one only slightly retarded. I am fearful that having a phone so much smarter than me could lead to trouble. It seems smug in its smartness. For instance when I turn it on, it dangles icons in front of me that I know, it knows, I dont know what they are and it offers no explanation. Its instructions, when I do venture in, seem unnecessarily cryptic, and sometimes truncated. In fact, Ive already started calling it my -smartass- phone. Already we are at odds and we hardly know each other. Im envisioning a relationship where Im constantly the butt end of cruel jokes, Constant smirking at my ineptitude, and passive aggressive behavior such as refusing to accomplish the task I request. Already, Ive attempted to access the internet, and it said condescendingly cloud cannot be accessed as though I were stupid enough to believe that clear skies would be an impediment. And, it is always so erudite with negative instruction, using phrases and words of definite negativity like, cant access, Unable to process, cannot respond, incorrect and on and on. I mean, its not even willing to negotiate. Ive told it, that I cannot be intimidated, that I will eventually learn its secrets and conquer its usage. But, I can tell, it does not believe me. ;-)
