But if you’d rather be happy, then you must guard your integrity like Uncle Sam guards Fort Knox. It has been said that character is what we are when nobody is watching. How true. But there’s never really a time when nobody is watching because God is always around, and He’s always paying attention. As Bill Hybels observed, “Every secret act of character, conviction, and courage has been observed in living color by our omniscient God.” Yes, God sees all; He knows all—and all of us should behave accordingly.
