Happiness is being able to wake up in the morning clap your hands and say: "Today is going to be a great day". The prospect that tomorrow will be better than today is absent in Lebanon. Not a single soul has even tried to offer a pathway forward, a plan without which there is little hope and a dangerously uncertain future. In Lebanon, happiness is a prize given to those who are able ignore the pain and suffering all around them. The prize comes with a price.
