Happy 121st birthday, Bourke Hamilton Bayless. Bourke Hamilton Bayless was born in Barry County, Missouri, September 20, 1893. He was the fourth son of John Melville and Mary Melissa Stubblefield Bayless who built the Belvidere Mansion. Bourke shared the same middle name as his great uncle, John Hamilton Brunner, his paternal grandmother’s brother, who was president of Hiawassee College, Tennessee, for many years and presiding elder of the Methodist Church. Bourke married Cora Marguerite Willever and their only living child, a daughter, was Mary Elizabeth Bayless Campbell. Bourke, a banker like his brothers, was also the Post Master in Claremore for many years, and managed the Sequoyah Hotel.
