Happy 39th Independence to Papua New Guinea. As a lead person in organizing 39th PNG Pre-Independence Celebration in New Zealand at Lincoln University I wish to take this time to formally thank you all who have showed up to celebrate this event together as one. First of all I wish to thank all the Papua New Guinean students studying in New Zealand in various institutions. You all are the future of Papua New Guinea and our Mother Land is looking upon us each day every day. I have come to notice from this event that there is always cooperation and excellent team work. Many of us will leave this place soon but please keep your heads high and keep the fire burning. I believe Lincoln Students have now set a bench mark of how our nations birth should be celebrated with pride and dignity on a foreign soil. It is not an easy task to organize such bigger event but can be managed as a team. Team Waikato, my only advise to you is to start planning and organizing as early as possible, I am pretty sure you will handle this and put out a better 40th Anniversary. To all Papua New Guineans living NZ wide who turn up for the event or even if you didnt but gave your support of any kind I thank you all with an appreciation that you all are wonderful and amazing people. This event is and should be the time to get together as a family to celebrate the birth of our beautiful nation. Your support as Papua New Guineans in New Zealand to the celebrating this event each year will always be acknowledged and appreciated. Please give Team Waikato, our next host for 40th Anniversary your support in any kind. Christchurch Community your support to this event was greatly appreciated. Esther Matai, Martin Yeki, Jenny Jenkins, Luke Yeki aka Flawless and many others I appreciate your support in hosting this event. The presence of GoPNG Officials was acknowledged and I thank their support towards hosting this event. These are dignitaries who know where their people are. Special one to the MInister Delilah Gore and LLG Presidents of Sohe District we appreciate your support and acknowledged your presence on Saturday night. The presence of our invited guest and other important people who have significance in the development of our country was acknowledged and appreciated. Thanks to Patti Potts Doi and his Band Members. I am very grateful we had them light up the celebration. George Tauna, Manu Hakalitz, Any Miro and Father blo Pasifika Music-Potts you folks shocked Christchurch again after the 2011 earth quake. You guys are cool and solid team. To all my crew in Lincoln, CPIT, Air Niugini Engineering, Canterbury Uni, you all are amazing and hard working citizens of your country. I wish to thank you all for your hard work and contributions to making this event a success. Without you support we would not have organised anything better like this..you all are a fantastic crew to work with and am glad I had you all around. Especially, Jorge Puse, Wally Hillary-Jenkins, Desmond Wambriwari, Michlyn Ilbin, Natasha Kari, Adolf Gamo, Caleb Otto, Christina Hill you folks did some wonderful job in leading your teams well. Much appreciated. To the Organizing Committee: Jossie Toma, Bevan Kubana, Steven Iamo, Murray Vuriambu, Martz Hano, Allan Gaige, Solomon Kawage. I am very thankful for having you all working persistently as team around the clock to organize this event. If it wasnt for you this event would not have been a success. We have learnt a lot from this to work under pressure handling both studies and organizing. All the nightmares we had is over. I have attached to this post a screen print of an email from the Chancellor of Lincoln University Professor Tom Lambies acknowledgement. Thank you all...Stay Safe and Lets Look Forward to the 40th Anniversary in Waikato University next year 2015. Above ALL lets Thank God for the knowledge and wisdom to organize such events.
