Happy 4th anniversary to the love of my life. We met seven years - TopicsExpress

Happy 4th anniversary to the love of my life. We met seven years ago (Wow, has it been that long?) on a softball field in Redmond, and she has been my constant and steady companion ever since. She is spontaneous and fun – always willing to drop everything in order to take a quick weekend trip to Winthrop or Mt. St. Helens, or go to a Canucks’ game or for a hike at Mount Rainier. She is the most patient person I have ever known. Raising four boys can be a challenge, but she handles it with patience and fairness. When one of the boys is sick or angry or crabby (crabby teenager? Perish the thought!) she deals with them respectfully and compassionately regardless of whether it was one of my boys or hers. Leslie is selfless and kind, always willing to do the things that no one else wants to do – like pick up the dog poop when everyone else pretends not to see it, or cleaning the bathrooms when it wasn’t her who messed them up in the first place, or give the dogs their flea and tick medication, or take over the driving on a road trip when I am getting tired. She always looks out for me – carrying my diabetes supplies and extra Snickers bar in her purse so I don’t always have to carry my backpack around. Every morning, she sets the alarm to wake up the boys, and then re-sets it for when it is time for me to get up. And if I decide to skip going to the gym, she will always set it for an hour later so I can sleep in. When I leave in the morning, she kisses me goodbye, and when she comes home from work, greets me with a kiss again. She is trustworthy, uses good judgment and is a hard worker. She is admired in her profession because, while she is a firm negotiator, she is fair, and she cares about her clients. Everywhere we go, she makes friends – whether a bar in Randle, a coffee shop in Lake Chelan or at an outdoor music festival, people are attracted to her because she has such an unassuming personality. She’s not arrogant or standoffish. She’s the kind of person who lights up a room just by her presence. I could never have asked for a better partner in life, or mother for my boys. I appreciate her every single day, never take her generosity and kind spirit for granted, and I miss her whenever we are apart. I look forward to many more years of love and partnership and adventures with her. She is my best friend and soul mate. I am truly blessed. Happy anniversary, Sweetie.
