Happy 56th Birthday to rocker Lita Ford who first popped on the scene in the 70s all-girl band The Runaways and still at it today...she was heavily influenced by Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple and vowed to be the best female rock guitarist....Id say she did pretty good at reaching that goal....she was on hiatus in the mid-90s to raise her two sons but by 2008 she had re-emerged to continue her solo career...she was briefly engaged to Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi and in the early 90s was married a short time to WASP guitarist Chris Holmes....she had her sons with then ex-Nitro vocalist Jim Gillette. They divorced in later years. She still performs today as a solo artist with her own band and she proudly endorses her signature Warlock guitar made by B.C. Rich..she is often seen at the NAMM Show in Los Angeles making public appearances and signing autographs....
