Happy 59th anniversary today to my mom and dad. They started with nothing but love, lived 4 years with three kids in a basement apartment to have the money to build their home...all by hand of course. Raised 8 kids in that 921 sq ft home till they had the money to buy the farmstead where the last of us 9 kids were born...where dad took a 70 year old farm house that had hogs raised in it, that was to be dozed into the ground and gave it new life. 9 kids and 1 bathroom/outhouse, snow...INSIDE!, rats in the walls, but he was always good at seeing the best in everything and made it a fine home. Mom put up with the mess and fed, laundered, doctored, taxied, and nurtured 9 spirited kids. They instilled a Godly heritage and trusted God through the good and bad, including the loss of my brother. They were those mean parents who always had to know who we were with and where we were going...and were good at saying NO! Theyve had their ups and downs in life and have been a great example to me of sticking it out through thick and thin. Happy Anniversary to two wonderful people!
