Happy 7/11 (Slurpee Day) Trackers, Everyone be very very quiet, - TopicsExpress

Happy 7/11 (Slurpee Day) Trackers, Everyone be very very quiet, we are sneaking up on 3,000 likes and we dont wanna scare it away. This week has been a bit different. It has been a very busy week, but many of the calls patrol officers were responding to were already done and the bad guys had scurried away and were in hiding. Fear not! When an arrest is not made (yeah, that happens every once in a while) the case is sent to an investigator, who puts their nose to the ground and tracks the bad guys and provides them with their complimentary pair of handcuffs as a memory of their criminal behavior. The Robbery Unit was hard at work this week closing cases and putting bad guys in jail! Saturday night, officers were called to a report of a man who found himself in a rather scary situation. He found himself with a gun pointed at his head and the bad guy demanding money. There was a struggle over the gun and the bad guy fired at least one shot. The bad guy then lost his gun (Oopsie!) The bad guy took off and the victim called for help. Over the next few days, members of the Robbery Unit put the pieces of the puzzle together and located the bad guy. When one finds themselves in such a story as a bad guy, one does not just get a friendly knock at the door by an investigator wishing to talk. On Wednesday, the Tactical Apprehension and Control Team (TAC for the cool kids) set up a surprise meet and greet at the bad guys home. I cannot confirm or deny members of the team were dressed as Girl Scouts in an attempt to maintain the element of surprise (go ahead, envision that....Ill wait). The bad guy was taken into custody and off to jail he went. One would think that would be a pretty good week for the Robbery Unit....but they werent done! Officers went to a call where a bad guy unlawfully procured a citizens vehicle and in doing so, he also pointed a gun at the citizen. Once again, bad guys with guns get a pretty quick response from officers. They are kinda funny that way. Investigators quickly figured out who the bad guy was and just as quickly the bad guy was in jail! Winning! This week was proof the bad guy may get away at first, but that certainly wont last long. I think the Robbery Unit deserves a gold star for the week and a brand new Kong toy (Those are my favorite!) Not to forget about the great patrol officers, they had a pretty good week of crime fighting as well. On Wednesday night, at about 9oclock, officers responded to a call where a female was heard screaming and trying to get out of a vehicle. The bad guy could also be heard in the background. With almost no information, members of several units came together and put their noses to the ground like never before. Think they found her? OF COURSE THEY DID!!! The victim and bad guy were located and there is no question where the bad guy will be located for a while. The only question will be what cell. While I appreciate all of the support from those who like and comment, as well as the great article in the Tallahassee Democrat, it is important to remember it is the great work done by those putting the bad guys in jail and keeping the good citizens of Tallahassee safe that make these posts. Keep your nose to the ground and your tails waggin Copper
