Happy 80th Birthday Elvis Going down memory lane and sharing my past with you. A lot of you might not know this about me, but Elvis Presley is probably one of my all time favorite performers. My parents use to catch me in my room trying to impersonate him singing his songs. I remember when my dad and I drove to Chicago we stayed in a hotel and that night on TV was a Elvis special and my dad let me stay up to watch it. I clearly remember the day that Elvis died I was at summer camp and I heard the news on the radio. I was devastated that the king was gone and cried, the councilors knew how much I liked him so they brought the radio to my cabin and let me listen to him all day while they excused me from the daily activities. That summer we had a talent show and I made a Elvis costume and performed as Black Elvis. I sang return to sender, hound dog and my way, a counselor played guitar for me. I also performed as Black Elvis one other time and that was in collage at our winter carnival. This is probably one of my favorite songs by Elvis and I have quit a few that I enjoy.
