Happy 87TH Birthday to my beautiful grandmother, Bana. Shes such a priceless treasure in my life. No matter where Ive hung my hat in the world - from Japan to Guatemala to Ireland shes handwritten countless letters to me. In her latest communication she gave a descriptive account of the first time my parents left me in her care at three weeks old. Whatever bonding took place then between us has only grown stronger and sweeter over the years. Shes wiped tears, laughed until we cried and more than anything - listened to countless stories. This week while playing golf - my playing partner made the comment - Who really likes their job? Honestly, who enjoys what they do? Except for you Lora Beth - you do - no doubt. Its a true statement and I can honestly say without Banas love, support and prayers over the years Id be living and walking out a very different life. Im a grateful granddaughter who today is celebrating the life of a woman that has certainly marked my life with extravagant love. Happy Birthday Bana from Ireland!
