Happy August you guys! Can you believe its only been 2 and a half weeks since I had my new lungs and liver put in? Most of it is a blur to me and its still hard for me to believe that this has all actually happened. Im here, alive, doing well. Doing things I havent done in years, it is a miracle. All thanks to one person, my donor. Words will never be able to describe how grateful I am to get this opportunity at a better life. Im so ready to start living again! Hopefully now that Im out of the hospital I will start healing even faster! Yes, I said out of the hospital!!! I was discharged yesterday! I got my last chest tube pulled in the morning and had last minute sessions with all my therapists, pharmacists, docs, etc. and they decided I was good to go. So here I am in the recliner of our trailer, relaxing with my feet up. No beeps, no ivs, no oxygen tube, just me. What a difference. Ive already been outside walking a few times and enjoying this beautiful sunshine. Now I just need to catch up on all the sleep Ive missed out on and Ill be back to 100%. Also, I want to thank all of you again for your prayers and words of encouragement. I absolutely love reading all of your comments!
