Happy B-day Air Force. My father, my hero, joined the Army Air Corp in 1947, several months before it became the Air Force. A year later he thought about getting out. They told him he would be drafted back in so he decided to stay. 21 years later, In 1968, he retired at Torrejon Air Base, (right outside of Madrid), Spain, and he along with my mother, who was a teacher in the DoD schools, decided to stay in Spain to raise the four children they adopted (Im one of them). My dad worked as a civilian for the Air Force for another 22 years, so I would say he earned his wings! Thanks for serving daddy! #AFbday
