Happy Birthday, Dad (3/22) and cmon, Spring! Farmers are, by necessity, some of the world’s greatest dreamers and risk takers. Every spring they roll the dice and go all in, betting every penny they can get their hands on and even their very lives that this will be the year, the year that everything will go as planned and the plan will be a good one. This will be the year that God, The Weather, and fate will all work in their favor and the harvest will be plentiful. This will be the year they are not plagued by floods, droughts, hail, tornadoes, fire, and pestilence during the growing season and when they make it to harvest, the market for the crops they chose will work in their favor. So many disastrous things, completely out of their control, could happen, yet they bet it all every spring. There could be no gamble more unpredictable and fraught with risk. Only true dreamers would keep on believing, no matter how many times their hopes have been crushed in the past, that something wonderful is still possible with the coming of a new spring. - The Book - as yet untitled
