Happy Birthday Dear George The following poem is apparently written by Neil Dickinson and was posted on Joe Averages FB page. I think it is great and a wonderful way to sum up 53 years… George Clooney was born on this day In the State where a young Cassius Clay Made his boxing debut Beating kids black and blue As an amateur earning no pay Clooney comes from a show business clan And he knew as a very young man What career would be best For the skills he possessed Which he showed later on in Roseanne In Centennial George got his start Where he played an irrelevant part As his resumé grew More attention he drew As he quickly developed his art Booker Brooks was his first major role On Roseanne, which was clever and droll Where a fat man and wife Dealt with friction and strife At The Lobo, a watering hole Then a role on ER came his way And a sizable increase in pay Soon his work would be seen On the silvery screen Where he’s made some significant hay After Batman and Robin, he played Archie Gates, who conducted a raid To make off with some gold In a plan that was bold Where a bunch of Iraqis got slayed Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou? was splendid In a startling manner it ended When a lake was induced Joel Coen produced Once again Clooney’s work was commended George has made 60 movies thus far As a writer, director and star Now at age 53 In the land of the free He’s considered a Hollywood czar Today is the day of the birth Of a man who arrived on this Earth Full of wonder and joy Like a child with a toy And he’s milked it for all that it’s worth
