Happy Birthday, Jeff Holbrook! Yet another last-hour submission...gotta type fast! Jeff is an amazing Trumpet player that I knew and worked with during my years at the Juilliard school. This studio was not only chock full of talent, but also of really great people, and Jeff is no exception. Hes an outstanding and flexible musician, and hes got an amazing attitude as well. No surprise that hes the Associate Principal Trumpet of a major overseas orchestra! He also became a proud new papa last year- congrats bud! Along with Juilliard and Orchestral music, theres something else that Jeff & I have in common: we both enjoy the world of tournament poker! Last year, Jeff went deep into an international poker tour. I *did* beat him to Vegas to play my first World Series of Poker event, but this means that Jeffs lifetime WSOP winnings are higher than mine...since I didnt cash in the one official event I played, my lifetime WSOP earnings (for now!) are negative. Ive got no doubt well both be climbing that leaderboard in the future :) For Jeffs #BirthdayQuest theme, I quote two pieces of music: the first is a big trumpet solo from one of my favorite (and most performed) symphonies, and the second is a song that became ESPNs WSOP theme song two years ago.
