Happy Birthday Jeffrey Daniel ( born August 24, 1955). He is an American dancer, singer-songwriter and choreographer, most notable for being a member of the vocal group Shalamar, with the group he scored such hits as, I Owe You One , I Can Make You Feel Good, Make that Move, Over and Over, Friends, There it is, This Is for the Lover in You, Take That To The Bank & loads of others. Daniel first performed the backslide, a physically complicated dance technique, now known as the moonwalk on British television, during a performance of Shalamars A Night to Remember . Jeffrey Daniel had been a back-up dancer with Jody Watley on the Hit US show, Soul Train. Don Campbell, one of the earliest Soul Train dancers was his inspiration. Jeffrey Daniel was married to singer Stephanie Mills, for a short time. In 1984 Shalamar broke up & went their separate ways, Jeffrey Daniel took on the role of Electra in Andrew Lloyd Webbers new West End musical Starlight Express which involved wild costumes with complex choreography on roller skates. Daniel was working with Michael Jackson who had always been a fan of Daniels dance style since watching him on Soul Train in the 1970s , he was hired as co-choreographer on the Bad and Smooth Criminal videos. Jeffrey Daniel was consultant at the MJJ Productions record label to whom Brownstone, 3T and Men of Vision were signed. He joined Nigerian Idol as a judge in 2010. He continues to perform, choreograph, produce, and compose with some of the biggest names in show business. In 2009 the reformed Shalamar of Hewett, Daniel and Griffey, performed as a part of The Ultimate Boogie Nights Disco Concert Series in London, with a return in 2010 & 2011. GARY
