Happy Birthday Ross Perot He was born in the year 1930 In Texas, where cowboys get dirty When dealing with steers Then they drink a few beers In the bars until one or one thirty In his twenties Perot joined the Navy Who sail on the seas, which are wavy But he hated the life So returned to his wife Back in Texas, where summers are hazy IBM hired Ross as a rep In the 50’s when beatniks were hep He could sell any brand His ambitions were grand So he took a significant step He launched EDS, which did well Soon his bank account started to swell It went public and thrived Rosss ship had arrived Then for more than 2 billion he’d sell But in ‘74, in one day Almost half of his wealth went away Half a billion he lost So he really got sauced Then he promptly got back in the fray A new corporation he founded And soon handsome profits abounded Then when Dell bought him out With their sizable clout Ross’s personal fortune compounded He founded a party and ran For the heaviest job in the land But his message got stale So he didnt prevail He was seen as a flash in the pan Now hes massively rich and retired And by millions of people, admired He reached most of his goals In his various roles And a lot of nice stuff hes acquired Ross has been here for 84 years Through a gamut of blood, sweat and tears Many deals he has struck Hes a bit of a nut Like Cliff Clavin, who frequented Cheers
