Happy Birthday to Sir Michael Gough (again, shouldve been - TopicsExpress

Happy Birthday to Sir Michael Gough (again, shouldve been knighted), a truly fantastic actor! Hes best known to horror film fans for starring in Hammer films such as Horror of Dracula and The Phantom of the Opera, which Ive come to appreciate and love later on in my life. But, to more current audiences, including myself, he is widely known for portraying Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne/Batmans butler and most trusted ally, from the original dark and gothic 1989 film, Batman, directed by Tim Burton, to the campy and silly 1997 film, Batman & Robin, directed by Joel Schumacher. I grew up watching Michael in these movies when I was a child, so in a weird way, I felt that he was like my third grandfather, a person who was wise, patient, and above all, loving. Sadly, Michael died in 2011, leaving behind a great cinematic legacy! Check out the video below to honor one of Englands finest actors to ever grace the silver screen, in my opinion! Happy B-Day Michael! RIP!
