Happy Birthday to me! On my birthday I wanted to update the world on the reason I have deferred my TFA commitment until the summer of 2015. I have had eczema all my life but about six months ago my skin became addicted to the topical steroids I used to manage it. Now I have to go through Topical Steroid Withdrawal in order to heal my skin and get my body to function normally again. TSW is pretty awful. I am now allergic to even banal things like tap water, sunlight, and my own sweat and hair. IgE antibodies determine how sensitive your body is to allergens and levels in the blood should be below 113. Mine were tested two weeks ago at 3400+. I am on a lot of pain meds, drink no caffeine, sleep 12+ hours a day, and am often stuck in the house. The good news for me is that this is all temporary! Sometime in the next year my body will be back to normal and I will have fully functioning immune system, adrenal glands, and skin barrier. In the meantime, I cant wear any makeup and will be living a very hermit-esque life.
